Storm clouds gathering over a suburban Ohio neighborhood

Storm & hail damage

After the storm, the calm part starts here.

Wind and hail are part of living between Dayton and Cincinnati. The scramble afterward does not have to be. SimpliRoofs inspects your roof for free, photographs the damage before you call your carrier, and handles the roofing side of the claim from the first picture to the last shingle.

What's included

Nothing hiding in the fine print.

We are roofers, not adjusters. We document, we meet your adjuster on the roof so nothing gets missed, and we explain the paperwork in plain English. The claim stays yours, the deductible stays yours, and the roof gets done right.

  • Free storm damage inspection, usually within days of the storm
  • Photo documentation of every damaged slope, vent and gutter
  • Emergency tarping when water is coming in
  • A written estimate you can hand to your insurer
  • Your specialist on site when the adjuster inspects
  • Repair or full replacement, whichever the damage calls for
  • Help reading the scope, depreciation and supplement paperwork
  • The same GAF materials and 25-year workmanship warranty as any Simpli roof

How it goes

One guided process. One person who knows your name.

The same specialist who inspects your roof is the one who answers the phone afterward.

See the whole process
  1. 01

    Inspect and document

Before you file, we look at the roof and photograph the damage. If there is nothing worth claiming, we tell you, and you have saved a call to your insurer.

  2. 02

    You file the claim

You call your carrier with our photos and estimate in hand. That gives the claim a clear starting point instead of a guess.

  3. 03

    Meet the adjuster

Your Simpli specialist is on the roof when the adjuster inspects, so the damage you saw is the damage they see.

  4. 04

    Review the scope

When the insurer sends its scope, we walk you through it in plain English and flag anything that is missing.

  5. 05

    Restore the roof

Repair or replacement, scheduled around you, finished in a day or two, with the same cleanup and walkthrough as every Simpli job.

Higher standards. A brighter tomorrow.

What to look for

Signs of storm damage.

Not sure? That is what the free inspection is for. We photograph what we find and you keep the photos either way.

  1. 01Shingles missing, creased or lifted after high wind
  2. 02Dark bruises or dents the size of a coin on the shingles
  3. 03Dents on gutters, downspouts, vents or other soft metal
  4. 04Granules piling up in the gutters after a hailstorm
  5. 05A new leak or ceiling stain following a storm
  6. 06Neighbors with roofing crews on their street
  7. 07Trees or branches down near the house

What it costs

Fair, itemized, and explained.

When wind or hail caused the damage, most Ohio homeowners policies cover repair or replacement minus your deductible. You pay the deductible, the insurer pays the rest, and SimpliRoofs bills the work at the same fair rate whether insurance is involved or not. We never inflate a claim and we never waive or absorb a deductible, because both are illegal and both end badly for the homeowner. If the damage turns out to be wear rather than a storm, we tell you, and you keep the photos.

Both free. Neither obligates you to anything. Pick the one that suits how you like to shop.

Most insurers look for roughly eight to ten hail hits within a 10-by-10-foot test square on a slope before they approve replacing that slope. Fewer hits usually means a repair. A free SimpliRoofs inspection counts and photographs the hits so you know what you are looking at before you file.

Yes, in most cases. Standard Ohio homeowners policies cover sudden damage from wind, hail and falling trees, minus your deductible. They do not cover wear, age or neglect. Check your policy for a separate wind and hail deductible, which is often a percentage of the home value rather than a flat amount.

Most Ohio policies give you one to two years, but sooner is better, because damage is easier to attribute to a specific storm and water does not wait. Get a free inspection within a few weeks of the storm and you will know whether a claim is worth filing.

We handle the roofing side: inspection, photo documentation, a written estimate, meeting the adjuster on site and explaining the paperwork. We do not file, adjust or negotiate the claim, because a roofer legally cannot act as your adjuster in Ohio. The claim stays in your name, and we make sure you understand every step.

A single weather claim usually has a small effect, and in a widespread storm your area may see rate changes whether or not you file. Rates are set by your carrier, not by us, so ask your agent directly. What we can do is document the damage so you can decide with real information instead of a guess.
